My Favourite songs : Another brick in the wall

My Favorite  songs : Another brick in the wall

Pink Floyd ,a  rock band from London England was formed in 1965 by Nick Mason, Syd Barrett, Richard Wright and Roger Waters. In 1979 they released “Another Brick In the Wall Part 2.” which has been a huge success across the world.

One of my all time favorites, the songs of Pink Floyd have an intense power to stir the impressions we keep layering our psyche with. The music, the lyrics and the visuals have an intellectual blend creating a captivating, thoughtful, pensive and powerful experience.

In an interview,  Roger Waters explains  the essence of the  concept of The Wall. The “wall” is the self-isolating barrier we build over the course of our lives, and the “bricks in the wall” are the people and events that turn us inward and away from others.”

Another Brick In the Wall Lyrics
by Pink Floyd
Another Brick in the Wall Lyrics – Part 1 (Waters) 3:41Daddy’s flown across the ocean
Leaving just a memory
Snapshot in the family album
Daddy what else did you leave for me?
Daddy, what’d’ja leave behind for me?!?
All in all it was just a brick in the wall.
All in all it was all just bricks in the wall.

“You! Yes, you! Stand still laddy!

Another Brick in the Wall Lyrics – Part 2

(Waters) 3:56We don’t need no educationÂ
We dont need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!
All in all it’s just another brick in the wall.
All in all you’re just another brick in the wall.

We don’t need no education
We dont need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!
All in all it’s just another brick in the wall.
All in all you’re just another brick in the wall.

“Wrong, Do it again!”
“If you don’t eat yer meat, you can’t have any pudding. How can you
have any pudding if you don’t eat yer meat?”
“You! Yes, you behind the bikesheds, stand still laddy!”
[Sound of many TV’s coming on, all on different channels]
“The Bulls are already out there”
Pink: “Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrgh!”
“This Roman Meal bakery thought you’d like to know.”
I don’t need no arms around me
And I dont need no drugs to calm me.
I have seen the writing on the wall.
Don’t think I need anything at all.
No! Don’t think I’ll need anything at all.
All in all it was all just bricks in the wall.
All in all you were all just bricks in the wall.

My Favorite songs : Islands in the stream

Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers : Unmistakable chemistry, perfect rhythm … Joyful !!

Islands in the Stream
Baby, when I met you there was peace unknown
I set out to get you with a fine tooth comb
I was soft inside, there was somethin’ going on
You do something to me that I can’t explain
Hold me closer and I feel no pain
Every beat of my heart
We got somethin’ goin’ on
Tender love is blind
It requires a dedication
All this love we feel
Needs no conversation
We ride it together, ah-ah
Makin’ love with each other, ah-ah
Islands in the stream
That is what we are
No one in-between
How can we be wrong
Sail away with me to another world
And we rely on each other, ah-ah
From one lover to another, ah-ah
I can’t live without you if the love was gone
Everything is nothin’ if you got no one
And you did walk in tonight
Slowly losing sight of the real thing
But that won’t happen to us and we got no doubt
Too deep in love and we got no way out
And the message is clear
This could be the year for the real thing
No more will you cry
Baby, I will hurt you never
We start and end as one, in love forever
We can ride it together, ah-ah
Makin’ love with each other, ah-ah
Islands in the stream
That is what we are
No one in-between
How can we be wrong
Sail away with me to another world
And we rely on each other, ah-ah
From one lover to another, ah-ah
Sail away
Oh, come sail away with me
Islands in the stream
That is what we are
No one in-between
How can we be wrong
Sail away with me to another world
And we rely on each other, ah-ah
From one lover to another, ah-ah
Islands in the stream
That is what we are
No one in-between
How can we be wrong
Sail away with me to another world
And we rely on each other, ah-ah
From one lover to another, ah-ah

My Favorite songs: They don't care about us

Michael Jackson’s most colorful, bright & invigorating performance !!

“They Don’t Care About Us”

Skin head, dead head
Everybody gone bad
Situation, aggravation
Everybody allegation
In the suite, on the news
Everybody dog food
Bang bang, shot dead
Everybody’s gone mad

All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us

Beat me, hate me
You can never break me
Will me, thrill me
You can never kill me
Jew me, sue me
Everybody do me
Kick me, kike me
Don’t you black or white me

All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us

Tell me what has become of my life
I have a wife and two children who love me
I am the victim of police brutality, no
I’m tired of being the victim of hate
You’re raping me of my pride
Oh, for God’s sake
I look to heaven to fulfill its prophecy…
Set me free

Skin head, dead head
Everybody gone bad
Trepidation, speculation
Everybody allegation
In the suite, on the news
Everybody dog food
Black man, blackmail
Throw the brother in jail

All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us

Tell me what has become of my rights
Am I invisible because you ignore me?
Your proclamation promised me free liberty, no
I’m tired of being the victim of shame
They’re throwing me in a class with a bad name
I can’t believe this is the land from which I came
You know I really do hate to say it
The government don’t wanna see
But if Roosevelt was living
He wouldn’t let this be, no, no

Skin head, dead head
Everybody gone bad
Situation, speculation
Everybody litigation
Beat me, bash me
You can never trash me
Hit me, kick me
You can never get me

All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us

Some things in life they just don’t wanna see
But if Martin Luther was living
He wouldn’t let this be, no, no

Skin head, dead head
Everybody’s gone bad
Situation, segregation
Everybody allegation
In the suite, on the news
Everybody dog food
Kick me, kike me
Don’t you wrong or right me

All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about
All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about
All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us

My Favourite song : Farewell to my little bit of something blue by Neil Diamond

Farewell to my little bit of something blue

Starting the new year with one of my favorite song from Neil Diamond:For someone who showed me what a little bit of love can do!!

I came with a little bit of sorrow

Was maybe a bit too sad
But one day rolled into tomorrow
And you gave me the best you had
That’s how we started together
And how together we’re gonna stay
You taught me a little ’bout good times
I fought through a little bit of rain
You brought me a part of your sunshine
You took in the heart of my pain
It wasn’t supposed to happen
But then you happened to come my way
Every night, every day
Every word that you say made it so
Every thought that I had
Said I ought to be glad, now I know
You showed what a little bit of love can do
You opened my eyes and a light came through
Took me to a place that I never knew
Goodbye to my little bit of something blue
You came and you found me wanting
And I’m saying that I’m in your debt
Some days were a little bit daunting
Some days I’d rather forget
You changed my life for the better
And I know I’d better be good to you
Every night, every day
Every word that you say made it so
Every thought that I had
Said I ought to be glad, now I know
You showed what a little bit of love can do
You opened my eyes and a light came through
Took me to a place that I never knew
So long to my little bit of something blue
It wasn’t supposed to happen
But then you happened to come my way
Every night, every day
Every word that you say made it so
Every thought that I had
Said I ought to be glad. Now I know
You showed what a little bit of love can do
You opened my eyes and a light came through
Took me to a place that I never knew
Goodbye to my little bit of something blue
Farewell to my little bit of something blue.

My favourite Song ( Symphony) – Beethoven 9th Symphony – " Ode to Joy "

Beethoven’s  9th Symphony –  For me it was a realization of a Joyful spirit  Transcending time..

This symphony had the power to suffuse me with a mystic sense of visualizing the peaceful repose of a very noble soul; someone whom I loved deeply and am eternally indebted to. This visualization transcended and took me an ethereal plane where I could feel being close to the beloved soul and bid her farewell into her trance before being reborn. An experience I can never ever forget..

ODE TO JOY (Friedrich Schiller)

BARITONE, QUARTET, AND CHORUS

Joy, beautiful spark of the gods,
Daughter of Elysium,
We enter fire imbibed,
Heavenly, thy sanctuary.

Thy magic reunites those
Whom stern custom has parted;
All men will become brothers
Under thy gentle wing.

May he who has had the fortune
To gain a true friend
And he who has won a noble wife
Join in our jubilation!

Yes, even if he calls but one soul
His own in all the world.
But he who has

failed in
this

Must steal away alone and in tears.

All the world’s creatures
Draw joy from nature’s breast;
Both the good and the evil
Follow her rose-strewn path.

She gave us kisses and wine
And a friend loyal unto death;
She gave lust for life to the lowliest,
And the Cherub stands before God.

TENOR SOLO AND CHORUS

Joyously, as his suns speed
Through Heaven’s glorious order,
Hasten, Brothers, on your way,
Exulting as a knight in victory.

CHORUS

Joy, beautiful spark of the gods,
Daughter of Elysium,

We enter fire imbibed,
Heavenly, thy sanctuary.

Be embraced, Millions!
This kiss for all the world!
Brothers!, above the starry canopy
A loving father must dwell.

Can you sense the Creator, world?
Seek him above the starry canopy.
Above the stars He must dwell.

Be embraced, Millions!
This kiss for all the world!
Brothers!, above the starry canopy
A loving father must dwell.

Can you sense the Creator, world?
Seek him above the starry canopy.
Above the stars He must dwell.

Joy, beautiful spark of the gods,
Daughter of Elysium,
We enter fire imbibed,
Heavenly, thy sanctuary.

Be embraced, Millions!
This kiss for all the world!
Brothers!, above the starry canopy
A loving father must dwell.

Can you sense the Creator, world?
Seek him above the starry canopy.
Above the stars He must dwell.

Be embraced, Millions!
This kiss for all the world!
Brothers!, above the starry canopy
A loving father must dwell.

Can you sense the Creator, world?
Seek him above the starry canopy.
Above the stars He must dwell.

Joy, daughter of Elysium
Thy magic reunites those
Whom stern custom has parted;
All men will become brothers
Under thy gentle wing.

Be embraced, Millions!
This kiss for all the world!
Brothers!, above the starry canopy
A loving father must dwell.

Joy, beautiful spark of Gods!,
Daughter of Elysium,
Joy, beatiful spark of Gods!.

My Favourite songs – Mother – Chalo chalen Maa

With the soul stirring music of Hemant Kumar from an Indian Movie  “Jaagriti” (1954) this song every time I listen to it, makes the child in me come alive ..
not in the sense of a forlorn childhood and craving for the careless times
but  in the sense of the very soft, innate element of purity and virtue we are all born with …
of the bewilderment of a growing child seeing the absurdities of the world run by adults..
of seeing the inhuman behavior of humans driven by doubt, greed, anger …
of the sad, sullen yet hope-filled urge every child has when he sees ..
Hate , envy and jealousy all around instead of Love..
Children are the best teachers  for human behavior..

My Favourite songs – Imagine

My Favourite songs – Imagine

…..Imagine all the people living life in peace…You may say i am a dreamer, but not the only one…

On October 9th, Lennon’s life was celebrated in a brief ceremony, called Imagine All the People, at the United Nations. After being welcomed to the UN — “this House of Peace” — by Marcella Pérez de Cuéllar, the wife of UN secretary general Javier Pérez de Cuéllar, Yoko Ono read a prepared statement, played a tape recording of Lennon, in which he urged the world to recognize “the choice we have in front of us: war or peace” and then broadcast the song “Imagine” over more than 1000 radio stations in 130 countries to an audience of approximately a billion listeners
